a capella: to sing a song without accompaniment

allegro: fast

composer: someone who writes a piece of music

conductor: someone who leads/directs an orchestra or band

folk song: a simple melody written by someone or a group of people to tell a story or talk about what is happening around them

forte: loud

jig: irish dance

largo: slow

minuet: a dance, popular a long time ago

piano: soft

rest: to be silent, no music or sound 

staccato: a note that is played short & detached

tempo: the speed of a piece of music

virtuoso: an incredibly talented  & skillful musician
